About

Here is the story of my biggest supporter of my love for photography, my best friend and late father, Lawrence:

Travelling to my parents' motherland of Malta provided for numerous beautiful photo ops of Mediterranean architecture, landscape, and marine life. This sparked my admiration for photography since childhood. My father noticed this and gifted me my first ever "real" camera when I was in high school - a Canon Rebel XSi.

I was successful; I sold photos at my high school's art silent auction and was approached multiple times by poeple who wanted to purchase custom prints and frames. Unfortunately, I put my small business aside during university to focus on varsity fencing and my studies in Geology. In my second year of my BSc, I joined a photography club on campus and started shooting lomography/film. That Christmas, my dad surprised me with a Zeiss Ikon Nettar camera.

My father had a massive stroke while I was in university completing an MSc in Geology; my time was stretched thin between visiting home to be with my dad, writing my thesis, attending courses and field schools, and managing a geology society on campus.

Field schools during my BSc and MSc took me to northern Ontario, the Canadian Maritimes, South America, and the states of the southwest USA. These geology spots made for some "breath taking scenery", as my dad described it, that I loved photographing. He was always excited to see photos I took along my journeys, when I returned home.

My dad - my best friend - unexpectedly passed in 2020. There are many interests and hobbies I shared and did alongside my dad that I try to continue in memory of him. Photography is one of them. Shortly after his passing, I unearthed the Zeiss Ikon Nettar my dad gifted me and acquired a Minolta X700.

Please enjoy. Thank you.
